Lorraine L. Young

With nine years of experience within the insurance industry, Lorraine Young brings a wealth of knowledge to the firm’s Aventura office, focusing her practice in Workers’ Compensation Insurance Defense.

Prior to becoming an insurance defense attorney, Lorraine worked as an independent field adjuster for Pilot Catastrophe Services, Inc., and as a first party property adjuster for State Farm Insurance Companies. During her tenure as an adjuster, Young investigated complex property claims, inspected the homes of policyholders following catastrophic weather events, analyzed property damage claims, and negotiated settlements with policyholders and their representatives. She later provided law clerking services to the Office of the General Counsel in the areas of State Purchasing, the Division of State Group Insurance, the Florida Retirement System, and the Public Records Division within the Florida Department of Management Services.

In 2003, Young received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Warner University, graduating cum laude and receiving the Warner University Communication Arts Senior Class Award of Excellence. She subsequently earned a Juris Doctorate from Florida State University’s College of Law. During law school, Young served as Chief of Staff for the National Black Law Students Association, competed in advocacy competitions with the FSU Mock Trial Team, and served the state of Florida as a Gubernatorial Fellow. She also represented underserved youth with the Children’s Advocacy Clinic in FSU’s Public Interest Law Center. She currently represents corporate clients as a licensed, practicing member of the Florida Bar.
